About Our Facility!

The Dog's Meow Pet Resort came to life just this year in 2023 when Justin and I moved to a property with land and decided to make a fun place to board dogs and cats!! Our facility is broken up into three very colorful rooms; Office, Dog Room, and Cat Room. We wanted to make The Dog's Meow a colorful and fun environment because the plain greys and blacks seemed more like a jail than a resort, so be prepared to see a lot of colors in the picture updates we send!

We have twenty 4X4 indoor/ 4X6 outdoor kennels and six 4X8 indoor/ 4X8 outdoor kennels complete with beds and a doggie door to make sure your pooch can be where they feel most comfortable.
Our 96" width 73" height and 25" depth Cat Stax Condos are the perfect space for your cat while they stay with us and we ensure that all cats and dogs will get plenty of one-on-one attention and playtime!

Our facility is climate controlled and located on our property so that someone will always be nearby! Your dogs will be able to make new friends in our spacious outdoor play yard fully surrounded with a 7.5 foot privacy fence and cement footer while your cats enjoy the luxury of their own soundproof cat room to lounge around in!

The Dog's Meow Pet Resort has video surveillance, day and night mode lighting, carbon monoxide and smoke detectors, and music to make sure your furry family members are comfortable and safe while you are away!!

About the Owners!

Hi there! I'm Kelsey Hughes! The Dog's Meow is owned and operated by my husband, Justin, and I so when we say it's a family business, we mean it! No big corporate franchises or prices here! I am the manager of the day to day care of The Dog's Meow operations and clients while Justin is behind all of the designing and building. He maintains the facility and makes improvements where we think they are needed, but he also makes a pretty good poop scooper or ball thrower! We have three rescue dogs and two rescue cats who are our fur children! We have been heavily involved in animal rescue for years and treat each animal who comes into our home as if they were our own.

I am a born and raised Midlander whose background consists of approximately 10 years in VetMed at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital. Working everything from reception to giving vaccines to cleaning kennels has really prepared me for just about anything when it comes to The Dog's Meow! I still work there part time (when Justin is at the resort) and I am so thankful for the continued knowledge from the staff and clients there to better help any animal who enters our resort, no matter their medical needs.

I am also the founder of two 501c3 non-profit animal rescues right here in West Texas: Midland Animal Shelter Adoptables and Permian Basin Animal Advocates. I volunteer every day with both and am a Dog Coordinator for MASA who manages 50+ dogs on a monthly basis working to find them forever homes. The Dog's Meow will have one foster dog or cat here at a time, so wo knows, you may just leave with an extra family member!

Working in VetMed and Animal Rescue I know that all breeds have their quirks and I appreciate and strive to understand them all. The Dog's Meow is proud to say we do not have ANY regulations on breeds and can safely accommodate dog reactive/ aggressive dogs. Justin and I have been doing in home pet sitting for 10+years and have had the best time doing it so we are excited for this next venture. Our client's become friends and their dogs and cats tend to become family so when we got to a point where we were often full and having to turn friends away, we made the leap to expand, thus The Dog's Meow Pet Resort was born! We genuinely want every animal that comes to hang out with us to feel loved while your mind is at ease knowing they are in the best care.
